Pursue Your Dreams No matter who says NOT to!

I began my travels down Creativity Road as soon as I held my first crayon. I was passionate for art throughout my life. In high school I focused on art. I will NEVER forget the meeting with my high school counselor, he was to guide me. I expressed my determination to pursue art, his words to me and I quote, " You'll never make it, you have long fingers, learn to type and be a secretary". WOW! Talk about bursting my bubble. Good thing I was a bit rebellious, and taught to try, we were not permitted to use the word "can't" in our home. I was fortunate to have a creative family who encouraged me. I started my art business Maria's Ideas at 19, about 8 years later was hired by my old high school to teach an air brush class, for an after school program which I did for 2 years. I went looking for that guy. He was no longer there. 30 years later, I am still in business, doing well & painting my way through life thanks to the support of many wonderful customers! XOXO
