This Heart design is printed on one of the beads given to patients
through the Beads of "Courage" program at Children's Hospital
in Pittsburgh. I collaborated with Randy Baumann of WDVE Radio
to create this special piece. Randy's design idea, I painted the original heart, it is printed on the beads. For info about the program: www.beadsofcourage.org
This large whimsical tree was painted at Dormont Public Library. I painted
the tree with many rich colors, but the leaves are added in the form of
hand made paper cut in leaf patterns.Donors get the honor of seeing their
name appear on the leaves. The tree comes to life with the generosity of
the people to create this giving tree. A featured story in the

One of 11 mural panels I created and painted for the HEDC. We placed the muralsin vacant storefronts in the Mt.Oliver business corridor along
Brownsville Road. The HEDC purchased the materials and I donated my services to gather supplies, design and paint each one. I addition to adding some color and interest to the neighborhood, several of the storefronts that received the murals subsequently rented and now house new businesses.
I was happy to stop for a photo with Shorty a local business owner, and
Billie a board member. For more info about the great work the Hilltop

Maria's Ideas established in 1982 is Celebrating 30 YEARS in business this year!
It's been 30 years of colorful creativity, I am continuously striving to improve my craft, growing and learning new techniques. It's been my pleasure meeting so many people in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. I feel blessed to have been given a gift, that has brought joy to others. I am grateful to everyone who has supported my art over the past 30 years... a BIG THANK YOU XOXO! I hope to inspire others to use their creativity, and I will continue to suppory other artists as well, I realize who important it is to do so, especially locally when possible.
